Do you have strong chapter endings?

Miss Snark's First Victim is holding another contest, this one about whether or not you have good, strong chapter endings. This contest is more low key; there's no Secret Agent, and the only prize is shared critiques. Still, though, it looks like a good opportunity (and mine will be post 5)!

Thanks for this. It's a cool contest. Hardly anyone mentions chapter endings, but good ones can be so exciting.

Some of mine are good. Some are OK. It's definitely something to work on.

It depends on how one defines a "strong chapter ending." If you have any advice, I'd like to hear it. :)

Davin-- Miss Snark's First Victim has really been invaluable as a resource for practical critical commentary. And you're right: chapter endings could make/break a ms!

PJ-- It's a fine line between creative chapter endings and never-ending cliff-hangers! Def. something to practice :)

Justus-- Obvs a strong chapter ending is one involved Arnold Scwarzenagger and/or Chuck Norris (the strongest, of course, being one in which the two fight to the death)
