So, word has spread. The kids know.
(Side note: to all my new awesome readers, I teach 10th grade world literature.)
Kid 1: Mrs. Revis, why does everyone keep congratulating you?
Me: I got a book deal! My book is going to be published!
Kid 1: Like, for real?
Me: Like, for real.
Kid 2: Are you going to be famous?
Me: Nah, I--
Kid 1: I'm going to keep the hall pass she signed!
Kid 2: I'm going to keep the chill-out form she signed!
(chill out = in school suspension)
Kid 1: We can sell them on e-bay!
Me: I don't think it works like that...

LOL!!! I love the "Today in Class" posts!
"Kid 2: I'm going to keep the chill-out form she signed!"
Hahahahaha :D
What? No one said they would frame their signed pass? It sounds like you've got some budding entrepreneurs, or at least e-Bay traders, in that class.
I do hope one of the little dears expressed interest in your book!
Love it!!!
That's so funny. Since I teach (substituting right now - ugh), I can believe it.
As far as "autographed" hall passes - you never know. Imagine if J.K Rowling had been an English Literature teacher? Too bad tenth-graders lose everything.
These "today in class" posts are hilarious. Congrats with the book deal.
I'm LMAO! I teach 10th grade history and I can totally hear this. :)
How fun!!! I love how every student would rather sell it, no one wanted to keep it. Ahh money really is what's on the brain!
Still very cool!
Hee hee! How cute Beth! I love that they are keeping your signiture! Love it! =)
See, I would totally do this too if I was your student! Tell them to buy the book when it comes out and tape the signatures to the inside before they sell them. ;)
That's too funny-don't you love how teens think?
Sounds like you've got some forward thinkers.
LOL! Ebay- that's hilarious!!!!!
But I do agree....ya never know...your siggy might be worth something someday!!
Ha, you have to give them credit for creativity though...
LOL! That's great. I bet they are really proud of you. (In their own way)
HAHA!!! Love this! See - THEY know you are made of awesome too!
I think I've said this before, but your kids are so cute! :D
New follower here! Congrats on your book deal..that is just so awesome!!! Can't wait to read more about it!
That's awesome! Kids really are the best :)
Chill out=In-school suspension? Love it!
ROFL. So cool!
You never know. It might work like that. Hope their bathroom breaks and suspensions are profitable for them. :)
It totally works like that. I'm going to keep this index card you signed and sell it for $5000 on Ebay in 20 years. Just you see!
Too funny. I wonder what they'll think of all this when they're all grown-up!
I think that is pretty high praise. And they like you enough to tease you--that's huge.
This totally cracked me up!~
I'm going to keep the blog comment she left me...sell it on Ebay! :)
Too funny!
Your students rock. Love this series.
