Injecting More Emotion into Writing

So, today I led a Creative Writing Club meeting at my school.

I think it went pretty well.

The topic of injecting emotion into your work, and I gave them a poem and two short video clips as an example. This is one of them.

I was going to go on and on about how awesome it was, and explain what I said about emotion in it, but yanno? I think I'm going to just show the video and let that be it.

Why does that get me every time? I've seen it about 4 times, and every time it hits me. It's beautiful. No explanation necessary.

Oh, wow, that's so awesome. :D

(PS--I'm totally transferring to your school. I WANT a creative writing club so bad. But I asked my writing teacher and he said not enough people would be interested. Sigh.)

Simon: I watched it so many times yesterday! Not just for my class, but for my club, at lunch, before and after school....

Donna: Me, too!

Jenna: (I left you a note on your blog)

Ann: Glad to share!

PJ: Yes--it's the music that really does it, and how they time the motions and flashbacks to the music. Brilliant.

Christy: I thought so, too!

Scott: I still tear up every time I see it :)

So beautiful it's beyond words. The creative who came up with that idea is brilliant. Emotions fuel talent. And talent regardless of disability would find its way out and make the person burn with its magnificence. I can't stop thinking about it. It's just too beautiful.

Wow. This is incredible. Loved how they used Pachelbel in D Canon for this (my wedding music!) -- played wrong it's a mushy mess, played right, it draws on the emotion of hope and triumph. Thanks for sharing this!

This is great! I bet it inspired the kids. My husband calls it passion and I can't agree more.
