Today, we're celebrating Morgan Rhodes, author of FALLING KINGDOMS! FALLING KINGDOMS is a YA fantasy and the first in a series--which makes me super jealous, because the project I'm working on is a fantasy series :)
Cyberstalk Morgan!

1. Please describe your book in five words:
High fantasy with
kickass teens.
2. Please describe your main character in five words:
I have several main
characters through which the story is told, but I’m going to focus on Cleo for
this question....
Princess seeks magic.
Finds danger.
3. Now the tough one! Describe yourself in five words:
Tired writer needs
more coffee.
4. Can you give us a hint about what makes your book
“breathless”?
Honestly, there isn’t
much about Falling Kingdoms that isn’t breathless (if I might say such
immodest things). There’s adventure, danger, swords, sorcery, witches,
shapeshifters, murder, smokin’ hot guys, romance, kidnapping, twists and turns,
and this is just the first book in the series!
5. What are five other books that have left you breathless?
(I.e. five book recommendations, or five works that inspired you, etc.)
Obviously, I can name
the other Breathless Reads – Origin by
Jessica Khoury, The Innocents by Lili
Peloquin, Black City by Elizabeth
Richards, and Venom by Fiona Paul.
Other than those fantastic titles, my five picks at this very moment would be:
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (Although
I didn’t love the move. No idea why!)
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead (So good! I’ve loved all of Richelle’s books, but this is the most
recent that confirmed that I am madly in love with Adrian.)
Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning (I
devoured this entire series like chocolate. Jericho Barrons is my favorite hero
of all time.)
Delirium by Lauren Oliver (Loved
this book so much.)
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (Broke my heart, but I loved it.)
And now for the contest!!

ReplyDeleteAdventure, danger, swords, sorcery, witches, shapeshifters, murder, smokin’ hot guys, romance, kidnapping, twists and turns? OOOOOOHH... Me want! ;) Seriously, this book sounds so freaking cool!
ReplyDeleteAnd gah, can't believe I haven't read TGL yet! Soon, hopefully...
I really love a kickass heroine. But hell, this book has a group of kickass teens! There's so much to look forward to in this book; princesses, magic, sword-fighting, swords, plus romance! What more can a girl ask for?
ReplyDeleteOMG! This book sounds amazing! I now know what I will be reading mid-December, Thanks for the interview!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm totally hooked! :) Fantasy is my favorite genre ever and I just absolutely love it! :) And the fact that there's a lot of adventure just makes it even better! :)
ReplyDeleteI love a good fantasy! Looking forward to reading Falling Kingdoms.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read The Golden Lily but I know I'll swoon for Adrian too. Miss Morgan, you had me at smokin' hot guys. Where do I start reading? Lol!
ReplyDeleteI have this on my to read list, and for good reason. It sounds brilliant, plus your fantastic taste in books leaves me with no doubt you can spin a good story!
ReplyDelete"High fantasy with kickass teens." Now that's a good pitch. I haven't heard of Falling Kingdoms until today, but I think it earned a spot on my tbr list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I think it's interesting how most of the authors used five separate words to describe themselves and their books, but Morgan used phrases. "Tired writer needs more coffee" made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteAs for the book...well, "kickass" as a description for the characters is always a good sign. ;)
A prince and fantasy, probably my two favorite words in books. This may just end up being my favorite out of the five, so excited to read it!
ReplyDeleteI initially thought this wads a children fantasy when I saw the description. I'm so glad to know that's not the case!!
ReplyDeleteI like the book's cover. It's pretty interesting . By the way , great interview. I always like to read good interviews!
ReplyDeleteI love high fantasy. It makes me sad how little of it there is in the YA market right now. I devoured authors like Tamora Pierce growing up. I can't wait to read your awesome book!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, I'm still laughing at: tired writer needs more coffee!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha I love high fantasy, can't wait to check this one out!
I wanna see one small change: Your response would have been even better if it read "kick ass teens find danger." Just leave out the part about searching for magic. Keep the audience on their toes!
ReplyDeleteHow can I not have heard about this book before?
ReplyDelete" 1. Please describe your book in five words:
High fantasy with kickass teens."
HELL YES! Major fantasy fan right here!
The cover is AWESOME! ((and kind of makes me think of Assassin's Creed. .. Lol <3 ^_^)) I love fantasy. [My very first internet identity had that as a central part of it, after all.] ALSO~ The answers to questions 1, 2, & 4 are -AWESOME-. Especially, the answer to question #4, that's -super - awesome- and definitely had me sold! I simply can not illustrate how much I'd like to read this now! :) *definitely adding this to my list of to-read books at once!*
ReplyDeleteOH GOSH. I need this book! I looks amazing, sounds amazing...and I just ACK! Can't wait! Thanks for the great interview and giveaway. Rock on Beth!
ReplyDeleteI'm not the biggest fantasy fan but this book sounds more than your average 'hero goes on epic quest to rescue princess with random dragons thrown in' it sounds quite interesting. Plus I know the biggest fantasy fan around (my girlfriend) who would love to read this book!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for this book to come out! It sounds awesome. Plus I love when the stories have more than one person and it switches between each character! I feel like you get so much more out a book that way!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for this book to come out. Everyone that has read it has raved about it.
