As for my story--it's called "Love is a Choice." It's all about Orion, and how he chose to give up his title as Elder to become the rogue he is in ACROSS THE UNIVERSE. There's a new character there, one I like dearly (and who was named after Meg in A WRINKLE IN TIME). The thing I love about this story is that it really gave me a chance to show the reader exactly what Orion did to become who he was, and why.
Midnight Book Girl reviewed the whole antho, and this is what she had to say about my story:
I liked Across the Universe, but to be honest, I found Orion's story even more compelling! ReplyDeleteAll of them because it sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Orion's story! He is probably one of the most interesting and mysterious villains of YA (maybe villain is too strong a word?) and I would love to see how he became the man Amy and Elder witnessed.
ReplyDeleteEVERY SINGLE ONE because these authors rock.

ReplyDeleteReally excited to read Orion's story!
ReplyDeleteThis anthology was really great- I've always been attracted to anthologies, especially since I use to read quite a bit of horror, and usually there's only one or two stand outs. But I can honestly say that all the stories are good, and yours in particular was a page turner!
ReplyDeleteAll of them. So many great authors have stories in it.

I'd be very interested to see what kind of dystopian story would come from the mind of Melissa Marr. I also can't get enough of Veronica Roth :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway, Beth! I'm also really excited to read your story! :D
Oh man. I read a mini-synopsis of each story, and they all BLOW MY MIND. They sound amazing. I'm not picking just one. I can't pick just one. Maybe after I read them, but certainly not before!

ReplyDeleteThere are so many of my favorite author i couldn't begin to know. Orion of couse
ReplyDeleteWell, it would definitely be interesting to get a glimpse into the complexity of Orion's mind. In the Across the Universe trilogy, we only got to see the unhinged version through how Amy and Elder interpreted his actions, but the thing is that to him, his actions and means were entirely justifiable and reasonable. So I'm sure this antho would be really great, not only because of all the other authors who contributed, but also because we get another perspective on the happenings in the trilogy. (:
ReplyDeleteWould love to win this! Looking forwards to reading yours to get an intro into your world before I start Across the Universe. But really really looking forwards to Carrie Ryan's too because Forest of Hands and Teeth was nightmare territory. Which is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to read Love is a Choice and read Orion's story! Also I can't wait for Veronica Roth's Hearken. I love the series!
ReplyDeleteI've wondered about Orion, so I can't wait to hear more about how he got to where Amy finds him!
ReplyDeleteI'm most excited about yours, of course. I'd love to read more of Orion's story.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne Hill
