Today, in class, the kids were *supposed* to be studying for their massive final exam, which is tomorrow. They were studying in small groups reading over their study guides.
Kid 1: Man, I don't remember this stuff. Heian period Japan? What was that?
Kid 2: I dunno, but I think that has something to do with courtly love.
Kid 3: She's messed up! Doing all those drugs. She looks like she's on crack. She's just crazy.
Kid 1 and Kid 2: *blink*blink*
Kid 2: COURTLY love, not COURTNEY Love.
Kid 3: She's a crackhead.
Kid 1: *blink*blink*
Kid 3: I mean Courtney Love's a crackhead, not you!
lol! I love reading your student conversations. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! What grade do you teach?
ReplyDeletelol! I bet being a teacher presents all kinds of humorous moments like this. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteHee, hee! Love, love, love 'Today in Class'!!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha. Hilarious :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I'm so glad you actually get to record this kind of stuff.
ReplyDeleteThis is great stuff.
ReplyDeleteI love having kids in my car/house and overhearing their conversations. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteBeth one of the thrills of going back to school at 38, is being able to sit with the kids in class. At 18 years old, there isn't much difference from your students. I could eat them up...they're so precious! I just chopped off my hair because one of the girls talked me into it. My husband said that if I come home with purple hair, he isn't going to let me go back, lol!
ReplyDeleteI love this post!
*snort* I don't know how you keep a straight face.
ReplyDeleteI love these posts; you should compile them into a collection.
ReplyDeleteLOL! These are so funny, they remind me of my classmates when we have class discussions on Social Studies! This is my first "Today In Class" reading, I know I can't wait for more!
ReplyDeleteAngela: tenth graders, and they're hilarious!
ReplyDeleteDiscussing Courtney Love always helped ease my anxiety while studying for exams. I'm just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteLol, inside the minds of students. You live dangerously!
