The Best Book in the WORLD Giveaway!

Read below for a chance to win the BEST book published in the last five years!

When I started this blog, I didn't think I'd ever get more than a handful of followers. In fact, I hesitated to put up the follower widget, because I feared that I would just embarrass myself like that time I threw a party and no one showed up, not even my best friend.

But look! I've just hit 200 followers! Which is so cool I can't even stand myself. So, to celebrate this momentous occasion, I'm going to give away a book!

But not just any book. No, this deserves something special. I'm going to give away a very special book. This book is one that I consider to be the BEST book published in the last five years.

What book is that, you might ask? Well, here are some clues:
  • This book has been marketed to both teens and adults
  • It is a hard-to-define genre
  • It is award-winning (and deservedly so)
  • It is a best-seller in several countries, including America
  • It gives a new spin on a subject that is often written about
Do you know what it is? Have a guess?

Your Mission: Figure out what the mystery book is--and win it!
Since I'm celebrating having 200 followers, I'm going to have 2 weeks worth of clues. From now until October 5, I am going to post a clue a day. On October 5, you'll have a chance to guess what the book is--the first person to figure out what book I think is the best book written in the past five years gets TWENTY FIVE additional entries into a drawing to WIN a brand new paperback copy of that book. Everyone else still has a chance, though! If you correctly guess the book, but aren't first, you get TEN extra entries into the hat. And ANYONE who posts here what book THEY think is the best book published in the last five years gets an entry, too!

How to Win:
  • Comment to this post by telling me what YOU think is the best book published in the last five years for ONE entry
  • Since this give-away is in celebration of my followers, all people who are followers of my blog get FIVE entries for commenting on this post and mentioning they are a follower
  • On October 5, I will post the final clue to the mystery book. The FIRST person to comment with the correct title of the book gets TWENTY FIVE entries
  • Anyone else who comments with the correct title in that post gets TEN extra entries
  • There will be one winner, drawn from a massively big hat
Enter now! Comment below and let me know what YOU think is the best book published in the last five years.

  4. Congrats on the 200 followers!

BTW, I think you have a spelling error: "...ten extra entries into the HATE". Should that be hat?

  5. Thanks scibbler! Got that error fixed now...

  10. I'm thinking you're thinking of The Book Thief, though I can't rule out Poison Study. You did like that one a lot too...

I'll have to get back to you on my personal favorite in the last five years. That's so hard...

  11. Congrats! That's quite an accomplishment and you should never doubt yourself. You have a great blog! I don't get to visit nearly often enough but I always enjoy it.

There are sooo many good books to choose from, that's a tough one!
I'm a follower and from your first clues I thought of The Book Thief too. I can't wait to hear the rest of the clues!

  12. Well, I am a follower, but it's sooo hard to pick just one book!

Okay, I think the best book published in the last 5 years is... Looking For Alaska, by John Green.

  13. I'm guessing that your mystery book is The Book Thief. I thought of this before I even read the comments.

+1 I'm not sure of my own pick for the best book published in the last five years... but I think I'll go with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Since this give-away is in celebration of my followers, all people who +5 I'm a follower.

  15. I don't know about the best book in the last five years. I always have so many I love. But right now I'd still say Hunger Games (my choice). I'll see if I can figure it out over the next week.

    Plus I'm a follower!

  16. Oh it's hard to choose just one! I've read so many good ones. Since I write middle grade fiction, I'll choose Laurie H. Anderson's Chains. I couldn't put it down. And did I mention that I'm a follower and that I LOVE this blog?

  17. Wow, 200 followers. I'm so jealous. But I can't imagine what the best book is. It's probably something I haven't read yet. All I can think up is Harry Potter, but his genre is pretty defined.

  18. Gosh, I'd really have to think about my own pick for the best book of the last five years. As it stands, I've looked at lists of some of the most celebrated books of the decade, and even though I haven't read it yet I'm putting my money on "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak.

Oh yeah, and I'm a follower.

  21. I would *having my tongue firmly lodged in my cheek* say Twilight, but I'm thinking not. :p Urm. I want to say Hunger Games, but I'm not sure if it fits. >.<

  22. Congrats on reaching 200 followers! I'm afraid I'll need more clues before I venture a guess though.

  23. WOW ... congrats on 200!!!! Great giveaway ... I love the mystery of it all! :-)

  24. I had been thinking The Book Thief - it doesn't quite fit in a specific genre, it's difficult to describe but an amazing read. It puts a new spin on a subject that is often written about.

  25. I'm so definitely a follower. I was in on the following you game early. How I can I pick just one book? You know how hard I waffle. Would that be the one I enjoyed most or the book with the best writing? I'll just put the one I enjoyed most...but it's not yours because it's not YA. The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. The Book Thief and The Hunger Games/Catching Fire are right up there too. Waffle, Waffle. As soon as I click post I'm sure I'll think of 5 more.

  28. I'm going to have to go with The Book Thief, too, as my guess.

Best in the last five years for me? Hm. Can I name three? Deathly Hallows, The Book Thief, and Hunger Games. If I have to choose one, it's gotta be Hunger Games... though I'm squirming inside naming that over TBT. They both blew me away.

    I'm a follower.

  29. Yep, has to be The Book Thief--and I thought that before I read the comments. I'm your 204th follower! Late to the party but glad to be here!

  30. I'm a follower!

The best book.....I'm going with The Hunger Games.

13 Reasons Why was also fabulous.

But I also loved Soulless by Gail Carriger a ton. :) I can't think to far in the past.

  31. Well I already know that the book is The Book Theif, but I would have to say that my favorite book, the one that amazed me the most, was The Hunger Games. LOVED that book.
